International Conference on Dutch Studies in Bratislava

Academics of Dutch language and culture gathered in Bratislava from all over Eastern Europe for the Regionaal Colloquium Neerlandicum, hosted by Comenius University Bratislava between June 3-6.

The internationally recognized conference was attended by more than 130 scholars from 20 countries, who discussed current issues concerning Dutch language, literature, history, language education, as well as the future of the profession. One of the main topics of the event was how the usage and the role of the Dutch language could be transformed by artificial intelligence and new technologies in the future.

The University of Debrecen was represented by Dr. Réka Bozzay, head of department, Dr. Márta Kántor-Faragó, and Gábor Pusztai, who all contributed to the event with lectures.

The conference created an excellent opportunity for the strengthening of international academic relations, the academic exchange of experience, and dialogue on the future of teaching Dutch language and culture.
