Anna Maleszka, Roman Czaja, Andreas Weigl and Martin Scheutz — guests of the international conference titled Towns in Transition in a Changing World — Central European Towns in the Early Modern Period — were accompanied by László Pósán to yoUDay, the large-scale academic year opening ceremony of the University of Debrecen.
The spectacular cultural programme held in Nagyerdei Stadion invites students, faculty members, and employees of the university to celebrate the new academic year together every September.
YoUDay is unique to the University of Debrecen: there is no other academic year opening ceremony of such magnitude in Hungary, and it is one of a kind in Europe as well.
Thus our international guests could not only participate in the academic programme, but also get a glimpse of one of the most special events in the community life of the University of Debrecen.
