2 days of academic programmes, 19 presentations, and scholars from 5 countries — the international conference on urban history titled Towns in Transition in a Changing World has come to and end in Debrecen.
Besides Hungarian historians, scholars from Poland, Slovakia, Austria and Romania presented their findings as well. The papers, centred around four major topics, dealt with the urban history of different Central European regions and examined a number of related questions.
On Saturday, the two-day academic programme was followed by a study trip to Sárospatak and Tokaj-Hegyalja, where participants of the conference got the chance to explore the historical and cultural heritage of the area.
According to our plans, the international conference on urban history will be organized again in Debrecen next year.
